Defending Parents, Protecting Children, Exposing Abuse

On August 22, 2025, Dr. Simone Gold and the AFLDS legal team filed an amici curiae brief with the Supreme Court of the United States in support of the Petitioners in Lee v. Poudre School District R-1 (25-89).

At the heart of this case, Colorado parents (Petitioners) are fighting back after the Poudre School District (Respondent) attempted to “transition” their minor children to the opposite sex without knowledge or consent. By filing this brief, AFLDS is urging the High Court to grant the Petitioners’ writ of certiorari and reverse the dangerous lower court rulings - reaffirming that parents, not schools or bureaucrats, have the fundamental right to determine the care and upbringing of their children. 

This case began when the Petitioners discovered that school officials at Wellington Middle School were secretly working to influence their children’s sexual identity, usurping parental authority in the most intimate and sacred area of life. The lower courts refused to protect these families, dismissing the Petitioners’ constitutional claims. Now, the Supreme Court is being asked to step in and restore what should be beyond debate: parents are the primary guardians of their children’s health, education, and future.

America’s Frontline Doctors maintains the position that any school attempting to socially or medically “transition” minor children without parental involvement is engaging in egregious violations of constitutionally protected fundamental parental rights. Such actions cause permanent and devastating harm to children - psychologically, physically, and spiritually. A recent comprehensive review from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found that “puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries have very weak evidence of benefit, but carry risk of significant harms.”

“This is not just misguided - it is lawless,” said AFLDS attorney David Dalia. “The Constitution has never permitted government actors to usurp authority of fit parents, and to wrongfully intrude upon the parent-child relationship. That a school would have the audacity to attempt to secretly ‘transition’ these children to the opposite sex is truly mind-boggling. This reprehensible behavior is orders of magnitude worse than the behavior already enjoined by the Supreme Court in Mahmoud. What this school district did is a direct assault on the family and must be stopped.”

AFLDS Founder and President Dr. Simone Gold added: “This is child abuse disguised as education. No school has the right to secretly push children toward mutilation and sterilization. Parents are the rightful protectors of their children, and AFLDS will fight to the end to stop these radical, destructive policies from spreading across America.”

This case is about far more than one school district in Colorado. It is about whether American parents will retain the sacred right to protect their children or whether schools will be empowered to secretly indoctrinate and damage them. AFLDS calls on the Supreme Court to send a clear message: parental rights are not optional, they are fundamental, and they will be defended.
